The Bongolian is appearing on Saturday 2nd June as part of a massive Mod weekender organised by New Untouchables. More details below:

New Untouchables present Midlands Mod Weekender

2–3 June 2012 @ 78 club, Custard Factory, Gibb Street, Birmingham B9 4AA.

Sat 2 June 1–5pm free welcome party! DJs, market & scooter cruise round town. That evening: Beat club! 9pm–4am / £12.50 adv / £15 OTD featuring THE SORROWS & BONGOLIAN LIVE! + 2 floors of explosive mod sounds with nuts DJs Pid & Rob Bailey & special guests Roger Banks (Sure Shot), Nigel Lees, Richard Battye (urban village) Louie Thompson (chitlin’ circuit) & Rob Glover (yum yum).

Sunday 3 June 1–5pm free Lazy Sunday Afternoon! Dj’s, market & scooter comp.
That evening: At the discotheque! 9-4am / £10 Adv / £12 OTD. 2 rooms of explosive sounds. Room 1 nuts dj’s pid & Rob Bailey + guests Gary Wall (Moddingham) & Tomas McGrath (pork & beans-London). Room 2 scorcher ska & reggae sounds with Brian Kelson & guests.

We’re thrilled to have been asked to play at the 2012 Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival, held in Birmingham’s Moseley Park. We’re due to play on Saturday June 30th as part of a stellar line up which includes Soul-disco legends Odyssey, Introducing play Mr Scruff and funk favourites Speedometer, as well as DJ Sets from Lack of Afro and Craig Charles himself in the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club. Friday 25 May sees the Bongolian perform at The Wardrobe, Leeds with BBC 6 Music’s Funk and Soul overlord Craig Charles DJing straight after until the small hours.

Then on Saturday 26 May we’ll haul ourselves over the Pennines to Manchester’s Band on the Wall to perform another gig as part of Craig Charles Funk ‘n’ Soul Club. For more info and to buy tickets click here.
